REALTOR Safety

REALTOR Safety is a top priority at the Northwest Mississippi Association of REALTORS. The association offers safety courses throughout the year to members at no cost to members including self-defense classes, gun control, gun licensing and courses from the local sheriff’s department.

NWMAR partnered with The Guard Llama in 2015 to offer a security remote for NWMAR members at a discounted rate. With the NWMAR code, members get a free remote and the service for only $99/year. The Guard Llama remote, similar to a car remote, connects the agents cell phone gps to local law enforcement sending an emergency alert. The GPS allows the police to locate the agent in need without even a phone call. Contact NWMAR today for a special NWMAR discount code at (662) 449-3553 or amanda@nwmar.com.

The Northwest Mississippi Association of REALTORS also joined the Open Doors Partners in 2015. For years NWMAR members have been able to meet clients at NWMAR to sign paperwork or borrow the computer between appointments, but the Open Doors Partners takes access to a new level. The Open Doors Partners website (www.MeetMeHereFirst.com) maps local businesses that have signed up to offer the safe haven for our members to meet clients for the first time and take appropriate cautions. We are proud to offer safe meeting areas for REALTORS.

YPN (Young Professionals Network)

YPN, Young Professionals Network, is a group formed by NAR to capture those in the industry who want to stay current on trends, news, community involvement, events, networking and keep the industry moving forward. This year we have decided to revamp our YPN program and it will be amazing! The YPN committee is focused on more than just having a good time (which we always do!) but also about getting members connected, focus on good education and giving back to the community.

No age restrictions.

We will be having 4 main events through the year, and a few others along the way.

NWMAR Leadership

NWMAR Leadership is a yearlong program offered to NWMAR members who wish to further their leadership skills not only professionally but also personally. The program is a mixture of on and off site events as well as study sessions using John Maxwell material.

The purpose of NWMAR Leadership is to…

IDENTIFY emerging leaders and potential NWMAR leadership;
EMPOWER those individuals to maximize their leadership potential;
ENCOURAGE those individuals to participate in NWMAR leadership roles; and to
INCORPORATE those individuals into NWMAR’s committee/leadership structure.

For more details on how you can get involved, please contact joyce@nwmar.com.

Million Dollar Club

The NWMAR Million and Multi-Million Dollar Club honors members who strive to maintain a production and success level each year in the business. The Club host an awards banquet each year as well as other networking opportunities.

The banquet is more than just production awards, it also is a great networking and celebration event for all NWMAR members and NWMAR affiliates to attend. In 2014, the “Home’y Awards” were added as non-production awards voted on by peers to help include and reward other members.

Benevolent Fund

In 2014, NWMAR created the NWMAR Benevolent Fund to assist members during hardships. The fund is available to members and those associated with NWMAR in their time of need such as health issues, natural disaster or other hardships. Members apply for assistance and receive aid from the fund. NWMAR is one of 15 other associations in the country that offer this assistance to their members.
